Personal and professional papers of Stanley Warren, including correspondence, editorials and newsclippings, and published and unpublished manuscripts. Correspondence includes letters as advocate for several causes. Newspaper articles are both by and about Warren. Manuscripts and publications deal with African-American students at DePauw University and in Indianapolis Public Schools; African-Americans on postage stamps; and numerous other topics concerning African-American education and history.

Martin Luther King, Jr. (b. January 15, 1929, Atlanta, Georgia –d. April 4, 1968, Memphis, Tennessee) was an American Baptist minister and activist who was a leader in the Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience. A native and resident of Indianapolis, Ind., Warren taught at the grade school and university level, and was an academic counselor and administrator, retiring in 1992 from DePauw University. Active in numerous professional and educational organizations, many dealing with African-American history, Warren wrote numerous articles and papers related to education issues.
